Severe storms to impact Gulf Coast and Southeast with damaging winds and hail

The Gulf Coast and Southeast regions are bracing for another round of severe weather on Monday, following a weekend of intense storms.
According to NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC), a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe thunderstorms has been issued for areas stretching from the Carolina coast to Florida's Atlantic Coast.
These storms are expected to develop late Monday morning and persist through the afternoon.

Why It's Important?

The severe weather poses significant risks to communities across the Gulf Coast and Southeast. Flash flooding is a major concern, especially in areas that have already received 3 to 6 inches of rain over the weekend. The Interstate 10 corridor is particularly vulnerable, with localized flooding expected to disrupt travel and daily activities. Damaging winds and hail could lead to property damage, downed trees, and power outages. While the heavy rainfall has helped alleviate drought conditions in the region, it also increases the likelihood of flash floods in low-lying areas.
